ABC ‘playing with dynamite on race politics rhetoric’

Sky News host Andrew Bolt says the ABC is “pouring petrol over Australia” by its journalists promoting “dangerously deceptive … (and) inflammatory” rhetoric regarding race in this country.

Dozens of ‘Black Lives Matters’ protesters have converged in Sydney’s CBD to protest Indigenous deaths in custody and the death of American man George Floyd.

Streets around the New South Wales parliament have been shut as protestors chant “Black Lives Matter” and “Always was, always will be Aboriginal Land”.

“This is a complete beat-up,” Mr Bolt said.

He said the ABC seem to be “almost inviting trouble to come here”.

Mr Bolt said a royal commission, which was referenced by ABC presenter Fran Kelly, “itself admitted Aboriginal people do not die at a greater rate than non-Aboriginal people in custody”.

“Why doesn’t the ABC report that,” he said.

He said to promote the notion Australian police are regularly killing Aboriginal men “is not just a falsehood (but) right now in these circumstances, with what’s going on in America … this is playing with dynamite”.
