Vic second wave a result of a government too focussed on ‘politics and not governing’

Sky News host Peta Credlin says Victoria’s second COVID-19 wave is what happens when leaders and governments are “much better at playing politics and running the spin” than they are at actually governing.

Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews has announced the state recorded 384 new cases of coronavirus and six additional deaths in the past 24 hours.

Four of the deaths were linked to aged care and 769 active cases are in aged care settings.

The new caseload was lower than yesterday’s record high of 531 new cases.

There are now 4,775 active cases of coronavirus in Victoria.

“To simply say it’s a failure of government competence, might be accurate, but doesn’t go far enough in explaining the scale of the problem,” Ms Credlin said.

“It’s systemic, it’s up and down the power structures.”
