As a bipartisan group of House lawmakers unveils a new $1.5 trillion stimulus proposal, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) told CNBC Tuesday that the House, which is scheduled to break in October, will not leave Washington until a deal is done.

“We are committed to staying here until we have an agreement,” Pelosi said in an interview after a Democratic caucus call.
Pelosi again indicated that she is not prepared to accept a partial proposal like the “skinny” bill the Senate GOP attempted to pass last week: “That’s not a deal at all,” she said.
The House Speaker also echoed her comments from Monday, when she said that negotiating directly with President Trump would not be a good use of time.
Pelosi has been facing pressure from some vulnerable Democrats in the House, who are growing nervous that they might be forced to return to their constituents in election season without any new relief measures from Washington, Politico reported last week.
She told CNBC Tuesday that she’s still optimistic that a deal can be reached.

That plan would include another round of $1,200 stimulus checks, $500 billion in new aid to state and local governments, and weekly $450 to $600 federal enhanced unemployment benefits for 13 weeks, among other provisions.
