NSW One Nation leader Mark Latham says elites can get photos with Annastacia Palaszczuk and will be granted access to the state without hassle, but if “you’re a grieving family you don’t get a fair crack”.

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has come under repeated fire for the supposed inconsistencies with border exemptions which has seen celebrities given permission to cross the border but not grieving family members.

Mr Latham described it as the “politics of cuddling up” to the likes of the AFL top brass and major Hollywood celebrities like Tom Hanks.

“She’s not doing what’s in the best interest of the Queensland economy or Queensland health, she’s doing this on what she sees as a vote winner,” he said.

It comes as reports emerge the Department of Premier and Cabinet hired pollsters to gauge voter approval of the government’s COVID-19 restrictions.

“It’s a very very bad sign that Palaszczuk would put electoral concerns, her own job, ahead of the jobs that are needed, opening up tourism, and getting people back into Queensland.

“The Palaszczuk border policy is poll driven.”
