National Political Correspondent for Real Clear Politics Discusses the State of the U.S. Capitol

On Wednesday, chaos took place as Congress debated the certification of the presidential election results, forcing lawmakers to evacuate and resulting in four fatalities. White House and National Political Correspondent for ‘Real Clear Politics’, Susan Hennebury, has been in touch with other journalists who were inside the Capitol when supporters of President Donald Trump forced their way in. Hennebury joins to discuss what their experience was like and whether she believes the rhetoric we’ve heard, including President Trump’s charges of a rigged election led to the violence that occurred on Wednesday. The White House Correspondent for ‘Real Clear Politics’ shares her impressions on the resignations of President Trump’s members of staff and on calls for the president to be removed from office. D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser is calling on Congress to investigate the lapses on the security at the Capitol. Hennebury also explains what people on Capitol Hill are saying and what is being done in terms of enhancement or reinforcements ahead of the inauguration.
