IPA’s Dr Bella D’Abrera says the replacement of the western canon by critical race theory and identity politics in universities is giving students a “very depressing and very limiting worldview” by identifying people by their differences.

“The cultural and intellectual heritage of western civilisation is being completely removed from the humanity as they are today and being replaced with these divisive theories of identity politics and critical race theory,” she told Sky News host Chris Smith.

These findings came after an audit of 1,181 humanities subjects from Australia’s top ten universities and Dr D’Abrera says “572 teach identity politics and 380 teach critical race theory” and are giving students a “narrow worldview”.

“It’s a very depressing and very limiting worldview, and it’s a worldview that’s preventing Australians from living together harmoniously.”
