2020 changed the way celebrities got attention, promoted work and engaged with fans – but when it comes to feuds, it was business as usual.  Not even a pandemic can stop stars taking swipes at those who have wronged them, and we’re oddly grateful for their tempers providing us with a shred of normalcy.  Whether it was long-running spats making their way to court, or exes taking their grievances online, we were treated to many a celebrity war this year, as social distancing meant that they simply had to take their spats into a public forum.  There’s been a lot of information this year, and you may have forgotten some of it – so we’ve compiled a refresher on the tastiest celeb beef that was served up in 2020. Coleen Rooney v Rebekah Vardy  Last October, the showbiz world stood still when Coleen Rooney accused fellow WAG Rebekah Vardy’s Instagram account of leaking fake stories about her to the press.  This year, the WAGatha Christie feud spilled into the courts, as Rebekah won the first stage of the trial.  A judge found that Coleen’s infamous ‘It was……… Rebekah Vardy’s account’ post pointed the finger directly at Becky as the source, ruling that the ‘natural and ordinary’ meaning of Mrs Rooney’s posts was that Mrs Vardy had ‘regularly and frequently abused her status as a trusted follower of Ms Rooney’s personal Instagram account by secretly informing The Sun newspaper of Ms Rooney’s private posts and stories’.  Coleen was ordered to pay just under £23,000 in costs, and the two women are set to face off in the new year in the hopes of avoiding a full libel trial.   The stars have until February 8 to reach an agreement, or will have to face off in court next year – so we could have another year of drama.
