Black Future Series launches February 2021 to elevate Black voices and envision a new future of justice, participation, and action. “The Future of Black Political Impact” is an in-depth discussion of the current state and progressive path ahead toward activism, organizing, leadership, community, and more.

The Future of Black Political Impact Part I features a stellar panel of Black leaders like Lee Merritt (attorney for the family of Ahmaud Arbery and co-counsel for family of George Floyd), Crystal Cooper (Comms Director, March for Our Lives), Dasheika Ruffin (Sr. Advisor, Warnock for Senate) and the ACLU’s National Organizing Director and former Color of Change Chief of Staff, Tenicka Boyd. Moderated by ACLU of Louisiana Executive Director, Alanah Odoms.

The program begins with an introduction by ACLU’s Chief Inclusion Officer, Amber Hikes, and a brief overview of the ACLU’s new Systemic Equality agenda that seeks to advance solutions to address the legacy of racial injustice in America. The panel discussion includes topics such as reparations as a recovery effort, Gen Z, authentic representation and more.
