Inside Texas Politics begins with that growing crisis on the Texas – Mexico border. Unlike former President Donald Trump, President Joe Biden is not sending migrant children back to Mexico. He’s allowing them to enter the U.S. But where do they all go? There are already overflow centers in Dallas and Midland. On Friday, another one opens in Pecos out in West Texas. Congressman Van Taylor, a Collin County Republican, toured the Dallas camp and talked with children there. Midland Mayor Patrick Payton also joined ITP and said the center in his city came as a surprise.

State Rep. Gene Wu, D-Dist. 137, joined Jason Whitely for a frank conversation about violence against Asian-Americans. They are a community not as vocal as other minorities. And not as well-represented either. Wu shares some of his own personal story after first discussing the voting bills that Republicans are trying to pass in Austin.
