For someone who “loves” a bit of identity politics it would “pay” for Greens Senator Lidia Thorpe to get her identities right, according to Sky News host Chris Kenny.
“Thorpe is an Indigenous woman and in keeping with her green left activism she often raises the spectre of racism and loves a bit of identity politics,” he said.
“She didn’t so much attack the laws as attack the Northern Territory attorney-general who she portrays as just another ignorant white male.”
Mr Kenny pointed to a video grab of the NT attorney-general responding to Senator Thorpe’s criticism of the new juvenile bail laws and her incorrect identification of her own personal profile.
“When all you have is ugly identity politics, it pays to get your identities right,” Mr Kenny said.
