Political analyst: Duterte has used pandemic as excuse to justify failure of promised changes | ANC

ANC News: Professor Edna Co, former Dean of the U.P. National College Of Public Administration and Governance, believes the secret behind Duterte’s continued popularity despite controversies is his projection of a ‘changemaker.’ Co notes that his supporters come from across all sectors who cling on to Duterte’s potential to create change as compared to other personalities, even if more than half of his earlier campaign promises remain unfulfilled. Co meanwhile notes Duterte seems to have used the pandemic as an excuse to justify failures in delivering those changes.
