DC is no stranger to introducing counterparts of their characters and bringing them together for explosive plot points, storylines, and action sequences. We are already aware of this detail with the several Justice Associations across the multiverse, such as Earth One’s Justice League, Earth Two’s Justice Society, and Earth Three’s Crime Syndicate (that is the one where the superheroes are super-criminals).
But there exists another, more complex Justice League. The Justice Lords. They are complex in the way that they originally started out as a passive organization like the Justice League. But events transpire differently when President Lex Luthor’s acts result in the death of the Flash. The loss of a loved ally causes the heroes to rethink their entire system and ultimately, they adopt a more brutal policy.
