Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray wanted to resign from the post on Monday, June 27, as per sources. The chief minister reportedly wanted to announce the decision at 5 pm today via social media.
Sources added that NCP chief Sharad Pawar convinced Uddhav Thackeray not to resign as Maharashtra CM. The chief minister had offered to resign twice but was reportedly convinced against it by Sharad Pawar.
Shiv Sena rebel Eknath Shinde said today he would go to Mumbai “soon” and “take Balasaheb Thackeray’s legacy forward”, indicating that he is ready to launch his next play and challenge Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to a test of strength.
