ECOWAS meeting: Bloc set to discuss politics, regional violence

West African leaders are due to meet in Ghana’s capital as the region sees an increase in attacks by armed groups.
Leaders of the ECOWAS bloc are also expected to review sanctions imposed on a number of countries under military rule.
Another concern for West African leaders as their economies struggle, is the rise of protests against inflation and shortages. Analysts expect more demonstrations like the ones recently seen in Ghana, sparked by the rising cost of living. And they say, there is little regional leaders can do to stop this from happening.
