Inside Texas Politics: Will any law enforcement officials lose their jobs after Uvalde massacre?

U.S. Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) joins Inside Texas Politics this week to talk about a couple of bipartisan bills is working on in Washington, D.C.

It’s been two months since the massacre of fourth graders at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde. Last Sunday – the most comprehensive report yet – detailed the law enforcement failures that day. It showed how there were more than 350 cops there – and collectively – they waited more than an hour to confront the lone gunman. The question on a lot of minds is accountability. Will anyone lose their job over this – the head of the local school police department or the head of DPS?

Commissioner of Agriculture Sid Miller thinks it’s time Texas catches up to other states, including some that are Republican, when it comes to medical marijuana use.

For Texas Democrats, there was some unfinished business at the conclusion of their convention in Dallas earlier this month. Chairman Gilberto Hinojosa talks about Democrats not passing a platform at the convention.
