‘1971 war defeat was a political failure, not of military’, says Pakistan Army Chief General Bajwa

Pakistan Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa addressing the Defence & Martyrs Day ceremony on Wednesday, said that ‘1971 not a defeat of the Pakistani army, but a political defeat. He also said that armies around the world are seldom criticised but the army in Pakistan is often subjected to criticism. He added,’I think the reason for that is the army’s involvement in politics.’ ‘That is why in February this year, the army decided not to interfere in politics.’
