Politics amid COVID-19 pandemic: Dr. Nomonde Nolutshungu

When politics comes into the equation in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic, we don’t do well. That’s according to Health Attaché, Dr. Nomonde Nolutshungu, based at the South African Embassy in Washington D.C. Speaking exclusively to the SABC’s Sherwin Bryce-Pease, this diplomat, epidemiologist and public health expert shared her observations on the intersection between politics, socio-economic imperatives and scientific, data-driven responses to a public health emergency that has affected almost every country, not least the USA, where she’s based.
