BGT is set to return to our screens again this weekend after an explosive first live episode which included a powerful performance by dance group Diversity. But the piece has faced criticism with over 7,500 complaints to Ofcom stating that politics has no place in entertainment shows. But group leader Ashley Banjo has released a statement on social media saying “My truth, my platform, my art. I’ve always tried to create not only to entertain but also to inspire… That will never change.” But is a Saturday night entertainment show the place for politics?
