Eyes are the windows to the soul, that’s why people’s eyes are so captivating – the more you gaze into them, the more you lose the perception of time and space. But what about the eyes of animals? We rarely get a close look at those, but they are as versatile as human eyes, and sometimes even more! Surem Manvelyan, an Armenian photographer, was dazzled by the beautiful shapes and otherworldly landscapes hidden inside their eyes, so he created a series of beautiful macro shots, capturing the magic of animal eyes.

Not so long ago Manvelyan finished the photo series named “Your beautiful eyes”, showcasing the mesmerizing beauty of different human eyes. He was thinking what to create next and naturally started taking photos of animal eyes.
Horse
Having finished the project with human eyes, the photographer was ready to capture animals. It required more skills and intricate work in different lighting conditions, but he was ready for the challenge.
Husky
Manvelyan started taking photos of animal eyes wherever he could find them – parks, forests, zoos, and even his own backyard. People also contacted him offering their own pets for a photo shoot.

Human eyes are striking, but they lack the diversity you’ll find in animal eyes. Due to different living conditions and habitats animal eyes adapted, changing shape and size, developing special features that make them unlike anything else you’ve ever seen.
Alaskan Malamute
The eyes of animals that live on land are completely different from the eyes of the species that live in the water. Usually it’s pretty obvious that you’re looking at the eye of a water creature, but it’s still hard to tell which animal it belongs to.
