The electricity outages this month led to a cascade of problems across Texas. Some are still lingering today. State lawmakers heard a lot during two days of hearings in Austin last week. One of the state’s top leaders, House Speaker Dade Phelan, discussed what happens next.

Thousands of Texans remain without water. Plumbers have a month or two waiting list. And plumbing parts are even harder to find. As people await plumbers, what’s going to happen with those Texans who have exorbitant electric bills?

The number of Covid-19 cases is going down in Texas. However, vaccinations seem to be creeping along at a snail’s pace. Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins has been at the forefront dealing with the pandemic since it began 11-months ago.
