The politics over azaan has reignited in UP after Allahabad University’s Vice-Chancellor Prof Sangita Srivastava complained in her letter over the use of loudspeakers during azaan from a nearby mosque.
Prof Sangita Srivastava wrote to the Prayagraj district administration saying the broadcast of azaan on loudspeaker was disturbing her.
Her letter has triggered a fresh political war over the right to pray versus noise debate.
