The government has decided to allow teachers under the Education Ministry as well as staff of the Community Development Department (Kemas) to get involved in politics, with immediate effect.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the decision was made at a recent Cabinet meeting
However, he said teachers and the staff of Kemas are subject to the rules set by their respective departments.
Ismail Sabri who is also Umno vice-president said in a press conference after attending a short meeting with Kelantan Umno division leaders here today.
